Just finished a beginning drawing class.  I have never been good at drawing, but the teacher was very encouraging.   Used Prisma color pencils.  Hoping this will advance my fiber art experience.

Three postcards I made to donate for Pokey Bolton's fundraiser at IQF Houston.  Guess I was in an orange mood when I picked the fabrics.  http://pokeysponderings.com/

"The Kitchen Table" will debut at IQF Long Beach in July 2012 in the "Rituals" exhibit, then go on to IQF Houston in the fall 2012.  It is 24" across and 60" long.  I used rusted fabric, some hand dyes and commercial cottons.  There is just a bit of orange silk added too.  Sponsors:  Moore's Sewing Centers  http://www.mores-sew.com  and Havel's Sewing http://havelssewing.com and the Dinner at Eight Artists blog http://dinnerateightartists.blogspot.com/

                                                          "Working Stiffs"
I made this 18" x 18" quilt with men's suit material as the background.  The calacas were cut from lightly rusted cotton.  The "clothes" and "shoes" were made from a men's tie and men's shirting material.  I added a few embellishments and the twisted yarn around the edge.  This will debut at Artistic Artifacts, Alexandria VA on October 22, 2011.
